UK Games Fund

The UK Games Fund, administered by UK Games Talent and Finance CIC, has announced a new £5 million funding round available to UK games companies. The additional investment from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) will offer grants ranging from £50,000 to £150,000 as part of the Creative Industries Sector Vision – a joint plan between Government and industry to drive growth and build additional talent across the creative sectors.

The funding is targeted at small and medium-sized games developers based in the UK that are led by UK founders. To be eligible, companies must have a playable prototype and own or have licensed the intellectual property associated with their project.

Successful applicants will receive the full grant amount upfront after being approved. They will then provide monthly progress reports over the 6-12 month development cycle. As a requirement, the total project budget must be at least double the amount requested in grant funding.

This new funding builds on the accomplishments of prior UK Games Fund investments, which have helped British developers ship innovative titles while adding jobs across the country.
